Ray Rodriguez joined Sands Anderson in July 2017, bringing experience serving healthcare clients with medical cases and vaccination injuries. He represents both medical practitioners navigating lawsuits, as well individuals and families who have developed injuries related to vaccines. His goal is to help each client resolve their case through risk and defense management. By proactively and genuinely caring for his clients’ well-being, Ray helps each person look forward, stay on track, and come out ahead.
Prior to becoming an attorney in 2002, Ray was a medical practitioner and served as a primary care physician. His medical experience provides him with invaluable first-hand perspectives on medical topics such as illnesses, injuries, and vaccinations — including the challenges healthcare practitioners often face. As such, he can empathize with the work required to obtain and maintain medical licenses without any professional blemishes. Similarly, his experience as a doctor enables him to thoughtfully understand and support individuals and families experiencing vaccination injuries, which can often go undetected. By applying medical and legal analysis to each case, he can thoroughly guide his clients, no matter the outcomes they seek.
Ray was inspired to become an attorney after realizing at the time that one in three physicians was involved in legal action over the course of their career and how many healthcare practitioners did not know how to effectively navigate the legal system in the course of their defense. Ray was further inspired after learning people did not know how to legally navigate vaccination-injury claims and seek justice.
Today, he works as a member of Sands Anderson's Vaccine Injury Legal Team to advise and guide clients — while educating people on vaccination injuries and the programs available to assist them. Ray was certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in 1994, with his last recertification in 2008. Ray is licensed to practice medicine in Arkansas, Florida, Virginia, and the Republic of Ireland. He also previously served as a partner and board member of a primary physician group in Hillsborough, County Florida. Ray is not only an accomplished attorney, but also a regarded speaker and author, sharing his insights at events and in publications across the country.
