Lori M. Purvis
As a member of Sands Anderson’s School & Education Law Team, Lori provides legal support and representation to schools and school districts throughout Virginia.
Lori’s education law practice focuses on helping clients understand and comply with special education and general education issues and statutory provisions. She takes a keen interest in researching complex education law issues and uses that insight to provide lasting value.
While in law school, Lori was an intern at the National Network for Youth where she was responsible for drafting legal guidance documents regarding state-specific laws on youth homelessness. She also volunteered at the Child Support Resource Center, screening litigants for potential legal services. These experiences, working directly with K-12 students and education-focused organizations, provided Lori with an understanding of the public school system that helps her counsel school divisions and districts in her practice today.
Outside of her practice and volunteer work, Lori’s varied interests include rowing and fostering dogs. As a transplant to Richmond, Lori also enjoys spending time exploring RVA.
