As an experienced business and real estate lawyer, Jeremiah counsels both businesses and individuals, providing advice that is strategic and practical.

In his real estate practice, Jeremiah represents developers, lenders, and investors in the acquisition, development, financing, construction, renovation, leasing, management, and disposition of commercial real estate. His attention to detail and his open and honest communication style enables him to efficiently navigate issues as they arise and efficiently close complex real estate transactions for his clients.

When representing business clients and entrepreneurs at all stages of their business development, Jeremiah regularly negotiates and drafts complex organizational documents (e.g., sophisticated shareholder, operating, asset-purchase, and joint venture agreements) pertaining to business purchases, startups, and on‑going business matters. His experience includes general corporate matters as well as counsel regarding contracts, corporate transactions, and sales of businesses. Jeremiah also has extensive prior experience in litigating a variety of matters in both state and federal courts. This background provides a valuable and unique perspective to his transactional practice and ability to effectively counsel his clients.

Outside of his legal practice, Jeremiah enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. They enjoy traveling to new and exciting destinations and experiencing live music whenever possible. Above all, Jeremiah strives to approach life with an attitude of gratitude and kindness.

  • Represented a well-respected real estate development and investment firm in its acquisition, development, financing, leasing and/or disposition of several large retail and/or mixed-use assets including well-known projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including in Richmond, Midlothian, Henrico and New Kent, Virginia.
  • Represented a local hard cidery as outside general counsel from its pre-formation stage and provided advice and counsel to assist the company in navigating the substantial business and regulatory issues encountered as it expanded from a garage production facility with no employees or customers to a fast-growing leader in the regional craft beverages industry with substantial distribution throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
  • Represented a large commercial real estate property management company in the negotiation and drafting of numerous commercial leases with various prospective tenants ranging from large, international retail giants to locally-owned small businesses.
  • Represented regional and national trucking and transportation companies as outside general counsel and provided counsel on a variety of corporate issues including, but not limited to, corporate governance, employment issues, acquisition of assets, regulatory issues and insurance coverage.
  • Briefed and argued numerous appellate cases before the Virginia Supreme Court and the Virginia Court of Appeals.
