Broughton elected shareholder of Sands Anderson; Four attorneys promoted

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA —In January, N. Reid Broughton was elected shareholder of the Sands Anderson PC law firm, according to firm president Margaret F. Hardy. Broughton has also been promoted to Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Christiansburg office. David G. Boyce, Nicole S. Cheuk, Eric C. Howlett, and Christopher K. Jones were promoted from Associate to Counsel.

Broughton focuses his practice on business and healthcare clients in a variety of matters, including organization, financing, and employment issues, and represents clients in medical malpractice defense. He graduated from the Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was a member the Washington and Lee Law Review and also served as Agency Editor for the Washington and Lee Environmental Law Digest. Boyce focuses his practice on litigation in breach of contract matters, intellectual property law, cybersecurity defense, products liability defense, and premise liability defense. He earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and he served as lead articles editor on the Journal of Law and Public Interest, as well as Honor Council justice. He earned his undergraduate degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Cheuk focuses her practice on representing public school boards, school management and faculty throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prior to joining the firm, she served as lead counsel at the Virginia Division of Legislative Services in Richmond to the House Committee on Education. Cheuk earned her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary. Howlett focuses his law practice on business formation and operations, financing, and creditors’ rights, as well as commercial and civil litigation. He earned his law degree graduating magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He served on the Washington and Lee Law Review and interned for The Honorable Ross W. Krumm, Chief Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia. Howlett earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. Jones focuses his practice on the defense of commercial transportation/trucking insurance litigation and also cybersecurity. He earned his law degree from Washington and Lee School of Law and served an externship with Justice G.
