Virginia Employers: The Deadline is October 29, 2020 to Put Up New Mandatory Workplace Posters and Make Changes to Employee Handbooks

Labor & Employment

A bevy of new Virginia employment laws went into effect in July 2020.  These include new laws related to pregnancy accommodation, expanding worker remedies for discrimination and harassment, and limiting the ability of employers to enter into noncompetition agreements with low wage workers.

Effective October 29, 2020, Virginia law mandates that employers notify their employees of the new pregnancy accommodation requirements in the form of a workplace poster and by inclusion in any employee handbook.  Employers must also post a copy of Virginia's new law concerning noncompetition agreement by this same date.

Sands Anderson's Labor & Employment Team is ready to assist Virginia employers in complying with these new legal requirements. Contact one of our attorneys today!
