Hardy to continue as firm President, Geiger elected to Board of Directors,
Seltzer to serve as Business and Professional Liability Litigation Group Leader

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (January 26, 2018) – Sands Anderson PC, a Mid-Atlantic law firm, is pleased to announce that their shareholders elected its 2018 three-member board of directors:

Margaret F. Hardy re-elected to serve as President;
Jeffrey H. Geiger to join the board;
Brian R. Pitney to continue service.

The board leadership will continue to focus on the development of the firm’s growth strategies and client services, and commitments to attorney excellence, diversity and community. Board members serve 3-year terms.

Hardy joined the board in 2016 and was elected firm president in 2017. She will also continue her leadership roles as the managing shareholder of the firm’s Fredericksburg office and as the Healthcare Group Leader. Hardy was named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s “Influential Women of Virginia,” in 2013, has been consistently included in Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” for legal services/pro bono and healthcare law, as well as listed in Super Lawyers® for medical malpractice defense. Along with her law degree Hardy earned an MBA and holds a nursing license.

Geiger is the firm's General Counsel, and served as the Business and Professional Liability Litigation Group Leader for 10 years. Geiger focuses his practice on legal malpractice defense/legal ethics, eminent domain and business litigation. He has been listed in Virginia Business magazine's "Legal Elite" since 2005, as well as listed in Super Lawyers® in Business Litigation since 2007.

Pitney has served on the board since 2017. A member of the firm's Business Group, he served as Business Group Leader for 12 years prior to being elected to the Board. He has been listed in Virginia Business magazine's “Legal Elite” since 2006 and included Super Lawyers® for business/corporate law.

Cullen D. Seltzer will now serve as Business and Professional Liability Litigation Group Leader. Seltzer focuses his practice on commercial and civil litigation, mass tort and mass claim litigation, professional liability defense, law enforcement and public safety, and white collar defense. He has been listed in Virginia Business magazine’s "Legal Elite" since 2011 for civil litigation, in Super Lawyers® since 2008, and in "Best Lawyers in America®" for mass tort litigation since 2011.

The firm’s outgoing board member, Benjamin W. Emerson, served on the Board since 2000. He has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” in the areas of real estate and land use law, and in the “Best Lawyers in America©” directory for his practice in municipal law.
