Robyn H. Hansen Named by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as a “Leader in the Law”

RICHMOND, Va. (September 8, 2022) — Sands Anderson attorney Robyn Hansen has been selected as a member of Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s “Leaders in the Law” Class of 2022. The honorees will be recognized on October 25th at The John Marshall in Richmond.

Hansen is a dynamic and seasoned labor and employment attorney with nearly 40 years of experience representing both public- and private-sector employers. Throughout her career, she has developed policies, procedures, and employee benefits programs to help her clients create and maintain positive work environments. She has also defended numerous clients against claims filed with federal or state agencies, or in state or federal court.

In addition to employment, Hansen also has developed extensive experience in laws governing the public sector, non-profit institutions including health care and educational institutions and small businesses. Her clients trust her to understand and analyze complex situations, communicate problems in ways they will understand, and suggest an appropriate path forward.

Hansen is passionate about her work and her clients, and she is equally dedicated to her community. While she has been involved in many organizations, first as a board or committee member and then in board leadership roles, she has been actively involved with the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas for nearly 25 years. Additionally, Hansen has also dedicated herself to serving other community charitable organizations and ministries including the FoodBank of the Virginia Peninsula and Lackey Clinic. She can also be found volunteering at local shelters, baking bread for others, and in general seeking to help individuals in her community.

The Leaders in the Law awards program recognizes lawyers across the Commonwealth who are setting the standard for other Virginia lawyers. “Leaders” are recognized for changing the law, serving the community, changing the practice, or improving Virginia’s justice system, among other accomplishments.
