Faith A. Alejandro Selected for Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2022 Class of Influential Women of Law
RICHMOND, Va. (May 25, 2022) — Sands Anderson Shareholder Faith Alejandro has been named among Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2022 class of “Influential Women of Law.” The class will be honored this evening at The John Marshall in Richmond.
Faith represents companies and local governments in a broad spectrum of employment, management, operation, and planning issues. She advises employers on wage and hour claims, wrongful termination claims and employee grievances, discrimination and harassment charges, unemployment insurance claims, and contract disputes, including non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
She is also Chair of Sands Anderson’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and leads the firm’s efforts to expand its pipeline of talent, retain that talent, and implement other strategies to bring more women, minorities, and other historically underrepresented communities into our profession. She has spearheaded the firm’s involvement in Diversity Lab’s Midsize Mansfield Rule, a certification process that aims to increase the number of lawyers from those communities consider for firm leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, and all attorney positions.
Outside of her work at Sands Anderson, Faith is active in the legal community. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Employment Practice Group of the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia and as Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Forum of the Law Firm Alliance. She is also the Assistant Treasurer of the Virginia Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section, and an active member of the VBA’s Law Practice Management Division Council and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Virginia. She was recently appointed to the VBA’s new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee as well. Faith previously served as the Mentorship Chair for the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association and as the Communications Chair for the Virginia Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
