EdTech and Data Privacy Lawyer, Christopher S. Schuster, Joins Sands Anderson PC
RICHMOND, Va. (October 8, 2024) – Sands Anderson PC today announced Christopher S. Schuster has joined the firm as Counsel. Schuster is a business and data privacy attorney who focuses on leading and advising growing businesses in the educational, educational technology, real estate, consulting, and hospitality industries.
Schuster, who is based in the firm’s Richmond office, has experience navigating data privacy laws, developing bespoke privacy policies and internal policies, reviewing and drafting contract provisions and license agreements, and conducting due diligence.
With a deep knowledge of data privacy and the stringent regulations governing student data, Schuster ensures companies are well-prepared and fully compliant with federal and state student privacy laws and regulations including FERPA, COPPA and SOPIPA, along with relevant state and district level regulations. His experience extends to international, federal, and state data privacy laws and regulations that impact Educational Technology and other businesses including CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, DPDPA, FDBR, MODPA, and TDPSA.

Having prior experience managing a business with hundreds of employees and as in-house counsel, he provides strategic guidance on day-to-day operations, risk management, and long-term planning.
