Attorney Steven D. Forbes Joins Sands Anderson’s Government Group

RICHMOND, Va. (November 6, 2023) – Sands Anderson PC today announced Steven D. Forbes has joined the firm as an associate in the Richmond office. Forbes will focus on public finance transactions, acting as bond counsel and offering state and local entities guidance on municipal bond issuances and federal securities law.

Forbes will be a member of Sands Anderson’s Government Group, which represents more localities in Virginia and performs a wider variety of legal services for governmental clients than any other law firm in the state. Group clients include counties, cities, towns, and other Virginia public entities, including regional and local authorities and school boards. The Group has steadily grown, adding six attorneys in 2023 in addition to Forbes.

Prior to joining Sands Anderson, Forbes developed experience on issues including SEC and state-level securities compliance reporting, complex blue sky filing laws, and state regulatory commissions. His background includes drafting private placement memoranda and subscription documentation for privagove securities offerings, specializing in real estate-related securities. He also assisted small business clients with general business and corporate matters, including entity formation, dissolution, and ongoing corporate governance.
