Attorney Katie DeCoster Joins Sands Anderson in Christiansburg

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (September 26, 2022) – Sands Anderson PC today announced Katie DeCoster has joined the Firm’s Christiansburg office as Counsel. DeCoster’s diverse practice spans both governmental work and litigation.

DeCoster helps local cities, towns, and counties with a host of legal issues including local government law, employment law, and municipal litigation. Her practice includes litigating cases for local departments of social services as well as working with treasurers in Southwest Virginia to recover delinquent real estate taxes.

She also guides small and midsize businesses facing debilitating legal disputes. Her litigation experience includes insurance defense, trucking defense, products liability, premises liability, government, and constitutional law matters in state and federal courts across Virginia and West Virginia.

“Katie is a talented attorney with experience and skills that will benefit our clients in Southwest Virginia and across the state,” said Firm President Margaret Hardy. “We’ve been strategically growing our government group, and Katie is the right addition to our team.”

Prior to entering private practice, DeCoster worked as an Assistant Attorney General in Abingdon, Virginia. She received her juris doctor from the West Virginia College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the Roanoke College. DeCoster can be reached at kdecoster@sandsanderson.com.
