Federal Overreach and Community Associations: Helping Associations Navigate the Corporate Transparency Act

Webinar

Join Sands Anderson lawyers Danielle Wang and David Gundlach as they break down what associations need to know about the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).

The CTA is a federal statute that was enacted on January 1, 2021 as part of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020. Intended to enhance transparency for certain companies in the United States, the CTA requires these companies to submit information to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.

Unfortunately, "certain companies" includes most community associations.

This webinar will cover:

  • How to determine if an association must report
  • What the CTA requires associations to report
  • The consequences of failing to comply

We will also discuss how associations can mitigate liability in the course of complying with federal law.
