Laura specializes in representing clients in litigation issues, offering tailored solutions to a diverse range of clients including healthcare providers, correctional systems, and constitutional officers.

Laura is a seasoned Counsel in Sands Anderson’s litigation practice group and a key member of the healthcare team. With a pragmatic and results-driven approach to representing clients in healthcare litigation matters, Laura is adept at handling any situation both inside and outside the courtroom.

Known for her calm and collected demeanor, Laura seamlessly blends substantial court experience with quick thinking, ensuring she remains unflustered, even in the face of the unexpected. Her litigation experience extends across both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and in state courts, addressing a range of issues from civil rights claims to constitutional matters.

Her approach is inclusive, catering to both newcomers to the legal system and those with extensive experience, recognizing the importance of each client's unique situation.

Prior to Sands Anderson, Laura played a crucial role in the Correctional Litigation Section at the Office of the Attorney General, focusing on defending the Commonwealth and the Virginia Department of Corrections in diverse civil litigation cases – most notably, state employees responsible for setting healthcare policy. While at the Office of the Attorney General, Laura was also a member of the National Association of Extradition Officials and conducted trainings on extradition for nationwide audiences.

Outside of work, Laura finds joy in caring for her small flock of chickens and enjoys moments by the James River with her family and dog. Her favorite indoor spot in RVA is the English Silver exhibit at the VMFA. Laura's reading interests range from the back of a cereal box to Russian novels, and she proudly considers herself to be an amateur coffee nerd.
