Klementina V. Pavlova
Klementina practices in the areas of litigation, finance, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights. With experience representing Chapter 7 trustees, and creditors, including commercial banks, shopping center landlords, financial institutions, and trade creditors, Klementina enjoys breaking down the complexities of bankruptcy law for her clients and helping them navigate financial challenges with confidence.
Klementina is adept at handling a variety of complex matters, including adversary proceedings and contested matters, asset sales, claim objections, relief from stay actions, preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, plan confirmations, and secured lender claims. Known for her ability to communicate complex ideas in easily understood ways, she ensures her clients are well-informed and prepared for any challenges that may arise.
Klementina joined Sands Anderson following her clerkship for The Honorable Paul M. Black in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia. She brings a global perspective to the firm having lived and worked in London, The Hague, Beijing, Los Angeles, and New York.
Klementina was introduced to bankruptcy law when she worked as a legal advisor for the Bulgarian Mission to the United Nations in New York. In that capacity she assisted in drafting and presenting amendments to the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency utilizing her fluency in the Bulgarian language.
While a student at the University of Richmond School of Law, Klementina was an intern for the Honorable Kevin R. Huennekens and the Honorable Keith L. Phillips in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and was honored with a Medal of Excellence from the American Bankruptcy Institute for her extensive work in bankruptcy law.
